Mobile Car Washing - Organic Cleaners and Water Issues
As a Founder of a Mobile Car Wash firm, often folks will email me with ideas and tips to help us do what we do better. One scientist lady type from Northern California, suggest using acetic acid, vinegar or other organic solutions rather than soap. She also indicated midphase web hosting these ingredients often needed little or no rinsing, because they would Sea Monkeys leave spots on the car. Here is my reply to this comment and suggestion and if you run a mobile car-washing business you might utilize this data to your advantage;
I realize that vinegar is an ingredient in many cleaners. Many recommend it. We have used organic cleaners and all sorts of other cleaners. One of the most interesting things is that often they do not foam up and people think we are not cleaning the cars. Yes, it works and yes, it often prevents water spots, which is favorable.Now that I am retired and have sold the major accounts to a larger company and discharged the franchisees of their franchise agreement requirements, I have not done much with environmentally friendly cleaners, but occasionally, I assist people in the Industry and team members, but today, I am retired.
One should note that some soap is good for the environment as it breaks down things that should not be there already, although no pollutants or soap would be best. The storm water programs in the US have done a great job and the Regional Water Quality Control Districts have made a difference.
My thoughts are that car-washing soaps that are not good for the environment should not be sold at the store; people should not utilize household cleaners to clean their car. However, if people do wash their own cars they ought to utilize organic cleaners and do it on the lawn to prevent wasted water and pollution from run off.
Unfortunately, with 6,000 plus SUVs it puts The Seekers in the grass and kills the lawn. A Honda, small Toyota Pickup or a lightweight F-150 is not so bad, but Suburbans, Yukons, Hummers, etc. everyone knows that you cannot drive them on the lawn to wash them. Why? Well because water how to donate car is everybody's business, wasting fresh water supplies is criminal and stupid. Well, that is my thoughts on this issue.
If you own a mobile car-washing company - you are correct to be thinking of organic ways to clean things, it is a smart strategy. Sincerely, Lance
